Portman House
Chemical cleaning
Two years after moving into their new office building Land Securities noticed that the external surfaces of the glazing had white streaks that were not being removed by regular maintenance window cleaning. Reface were able to establish the staining to be as a result of rainwater runoff from the reconstituted stone parapet causing limescale deposits to become bound to the face of the glass. Chemical cleaning was carried out to all elevations of the building restoring the glass to its original clarity.
